Incoterms® 2010

The Incoterms® (INternational COmmercial Terms)

The Incoterms® are a number of voluntary rules for the interpretation of commercial terms for international trade. The Incoterms were developed by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and released first in 1939. The present version - the Incoterms 2010 - was implemented on 01 January 2011 in its 7th revision. The Incoterms are supposed to regulate the manner of the delivery of goods. Incoterms stipulate the transport charges between the purchaser and the vendor as well as the financial liability in case of loss or damage to the goods. Incoterms do not have any legal force. They only become legally valid if stipulated between the purchaser and vendor.
